Console play uses full controller support, and matches online take up to 8 players in ranked or unranked PvP and co-op. Four campaigns hold 35 missions from the Dark Ages to the Renaissance, with Joan of Arc and Genghis Khan among the leaders. Ten civilizations, including the English, Chinese, Delhi Sultanate and Malians, each have their own units. Tutorials and a Campaign Story Mode make the campaigns the sensible place to start before ranked play.
