Castle Clash: World Ruler is built around guilds, so Crown of Thorns battles between Narcia's kingdoms and duchies need a team behind you. Heroes with different abilities fight for resources and territory, while the Arena pits you against one other player. The Forsaken Land adds tower defense against bosses, starting from scratch each time. Base upgrades follow no fixed order. Heroes and buildings take skins, but those change looks only.
