Eight slashes per second is the number the combat is built around, and every cut can land as a critical hit against a swarm. Play runs one-handed, with number gates that ask you to go left or right to add soldiers or firepower. Between fights you recruit knights, mages and warriors, then upgrade castle buildings and research technology. Alliances let lords support one another and compete for resources. The battles end in boss fights, and the numbers decide most of the outcome.
